Van Gerwen 43-1 Darts Grand Prix Champion

The Darts over the past week have been fantastic from a trading and neutral point of view. With not much football being played the liquidity was superb for trading and there were shocks and gubbings a plenty.

In the end the tournament was won by young Michael Van Gerwen who was on fire all week and a deserved champion. He was matched as high as 44 in the winners market and started the week generally priced @ 25-1 with most bookmakers.

However, he won the final in spectacular style after being 4-1 down with the winner being the first up to 6.

His opponent Mervyn King traded as low as 1.19 for the victory before Van Gerwen turned on the style and grabbed the momentum. Van Gerwen was matched @ 6.4 in the match odds market.

It has been quite a week for gubbings with James Wade eliminated after trading @ 1.01 for over £11k in the 2nd round and top seeds like Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis and Barneveld all suffering premature exits. It is fair to say there are opportunities aplenty with the in-play darts markets and the PDC World Championship begins on 14th December and I can not wait!
