4 Betfair Correct Score Trading Strategies REVEALED!

Hey there, my football-trading buddies!

Today, we’re diving into the exhilarating world of Betfair Correct Score Trading Strategies and I am going to outline some of the best trading strategies to use on the Correct Score Market.

Strap yourself in because we’re about to unlock some valuable trading strategies that will help you score some sweet profits!

Now, why is it crucial to develop effective trading strategies for the Correct Score market?

Well, my friend, football is a beautiful game filled with surprises.

Predicting the exact score is no easy feat, and that’s where trading strategies come into play. These strategies help you navigate the twists and turns of the market, enabling you to maximise your profits while minimising risks.

The big difference with trading correct scores vs betting on correct scores is we just need to find scores that we think will trade lower during the match and trade them from there.

For example, if we think the final score will be a 2-0 win, we can back 2-0 and trade out for a profit if it ends up being 2-0 later in the match but this does NOT have to be the final score.

We will have our profit locked in even if the match goes on to be 3-0, 4-0 or even 5-0.

If you are someone who prefers to be in control of their sports investments then trading is a much better option for you.

Anyway, grab a cuppa and get ready to learn some awesome strategies that have served me well over my 15 years as a Betfair football trader.

We’ll have you trading like a pro in no time!

Trading Strategy 1: Scalping the Correct Score Market

Alright, mate, let’s kick off with a bit of Correct Score scalping.

Scalping involves taking advantage of quick price movements in the Correct Score market to lock in profits. The key here is to capitalize on the fluctuations in odds before they settle down.

The thing I love about the Correct Score market is you already KNOW which direction the prices are going in which makes scalping much easier.

This could be backing the 1-0 score @ 9 and then getting out with a lay at a lower price like 8 or 7.

For certain scores, even a goal being scored doesn’t affect the direction.

For example, I remember trading a match between Liverpool and Manchester City. The odds for a 1-1 scoreline were looking quite appealing before kick-off, standing at around 8.0. Sensing a potential opportunity, I placed a back bet on that scoreline, expecting Liverpool to play better than the markets expected.

I knew that if it remained 0-0 the 1-1 price would move in and I could potentially profit.

However, early in the game, Liverpool took an unexpected lead with a stunning goal.

The odds for a 1-1 scoreline quickly dropped, and I saw a golden chance to secure a profit. I swiftly placed a lay bet on the 1-1 scoreline at lower odds, ensuring a guaranteed profit regardless of the final result.

This is an example of how scalping correct scores can work well even if you get “caught” by a goal. It might not have been so good if Man City would have scored but this was a risk I was willing to take.

And you can find lots of similar opportunities for Correct Score Trading like this.

Tips and considerations for scalping

When it comes to scalping the Correct Score market, timing and agility are your best friends, my friend. Here are a few tips to help you succeed:

  1. Monitor the odds: Keep a close eye on the market leading up to the match and during the game. Look for rapid price movements triggered by goals, red cards, or other game-changing events.
  2. Act decisively: As soon as you spot a favorable movement, don’t hesitate. Place your bets promptly to secure the best odds possible. Remember, the market can change rapidly, so timing is crucial.
  3. Manage your risk: Set clear profit targets and be disciplined in locking in your profits. Don’t get greedy and be prepared to accept smaller but guaranteed gains.

Scalping in the Correct Score market requires sharp reflexes and a cool head under pressure.

With practice and experience, you’ll be able to spot those profitable price movements and take advantage of them like a seasoned trader.

All this being said, it is now very HARD to get up to date live pictures to scalp from.

So your best approach is to get a “feel” for the market and go in based on what you see happening in the market.

My general approach is to use scalping ALONGSIDE my other strategies and not as the main approach.

Trading Strategy 2: Backing Underdog Correct Scores

Now, my friend, let’s talk about a more advanced strategy that involves backing underdog correct scores.

In football, underdogs occasionally pull off surprising victories or hold their own against stronger opponents. By backing underdog scores, you can seize these unexpected outcomes and turn them into profitable opportunities.

For example, I remember a thrilling encounter between a top-tier team, Chelsea, and a lower-ranked team, Fulham. The odds for a 1-0 victory in favor of Fulham were quite enticing at 15.0. I expected that Fulham might put up a strong defensive performance, I decided to back the 1-0 to Fulham.

I knew that even if the match were to remain 0-0, the 1-0 to Fulham would keep steaming in regardless. I could hedge for a profit even if it remained 0-0.

And the odds for a 1-0 scoreline dropped significantly as the game progressed.

Then Fulham took the lead, I laid off a portion of my initial bet at lower odds, ensuring a healthy profit regardless of the final result.

But remember, this is NOT the easiest strategy and you have to be very confident about using it.

When backing underdog correct scores, my friend, it’s essential to assess certain factors that could increase the likelihood of an unexpected outcome. Here are some key considerations:

  1. Team dynamics: Study the underdog team’s recent performances, defensive capabilities, and their ability to score against stronger opponents. Look for indications that they could cause an upset.
  2. Motivation and incentives: Consider the context of the match. Are there any external factors, such as relegation battles or cup competitions, that could motivate the underdog to perform beyond expectations?
  3. Playing style and tactics: Analyze how the underdog team approaches matches. Do they adopt a defensive strategy, making it difficult for stronger teams to break through? If so, a low-scoring correct score might be worth backing.

Backing underdog correct scores can be a rewarding strategy, my friend, as it allows you to take advantage of the bookmakers’ underestimation of certain teams.

However, always remember to assess the risks involved and manage your bankroll wisely.

Trading Strategy 3: Correct Score Ladder Up Strategy

Now, my trading pal, let’s move on to a strategy called hedging with correct score ladders. This approach involves placing a range of bets on various correct score outcomes to create a ladder-like structure.

By doing so, you can minimize risks and maximize potential profits, regardless of the final result.

You may have seen Ben doing this in some of his Correct Score Trading Youtube videos and he sometimes call its “stepping stone” scores.

The idea being that we leverage the profit we have on one score to put more profit on the next possible scores and “ladder up”.

As you ladder up you also lower the overall risk and liability in the market so it works well both ways.

For example, I remember a high-stakes match between Barcelona and Real Madrid.

To create my correct score ladder, I placed a series of bets on different scorelines, including 2-0, 2-1, 2-2, and 3-2. As the game progressed, Barcelona took a 2-0 lead, and as I expected more goals I moved all the green from the 2-0 on to the other scores in an attempt to secure a bigger profit and “ladder up”.

And then, with 10 minutes left on the clock, Real Madrid managed to pull one back. At this point, I hedged my position by laying off a portion of my initial bet on 2-1 at lower odds.

By doing so, I secured a profit no matter what happened in the remaining minutes.

When employing correct score ladders, my friend, it’s essential to consider a few practical tips:

  1. Diversify your ladder: Place bets on a range of scorelines that you believe have a reasonable chance of occurring. This will help spread your risk and increase your chances of securing profits, using a Plan A and Plan B mindset.
  2. Monitor the game: Keep a close eye on the match and be ready to adjust your hedging positions based on changing circumstances. If the game takes an unexpected turn, you can adapt your strategy accordingly.
  3. Calculate your positions: Use hedging calculators or software to determine the ideal lay bets to make in order to secure profits or minimize losses. These tools can help you make informed decisions based on the current odds.

Trading Strategy 4: Correct Score Combo Strategy

Alright, mate, if you are looking for a more beginner friendly approach then the COMBO strategy is probably it.

This type of strategy involves identifying and trading multiple scoreline combinations that offer favorable odds and higher probability outcomes. The emphasis on “high probability”.

Obviously, the more scores you cover the more likely you are to be profitable but you will lower your profit potential per trade.

For example, you could cover 7-8 scores and be in with a high chance of locking in a profit late on but your risk-reward ratio might not be favourable.

For example, in my learning days I remember trading a clash between two defensive-minded teams, Italy and Germany. After careful analysis, I identified that a 1-0 or 1-1 scoreline was highly likely given their playing styles and recent form. I placed back bets on both these scorelines at appealing odds.

But i also covered lots of other scores such as 2-1, 3-0, 3-1 etc just in case.

In the end, it was a 1-1 score but my profit was not as big as it would have been had I kept it simple and just covered the 1-0 and 1-1 scores like planned.

Either way, this is a great beginners approach but you need to find a balance between picking enough scores to trade on and also giving yourself some good profit potential to play with.
