In-Play Movement On a “Fixed” Draw

When we have a football match where the result of a draw is heavily favoured and actually an odds-on favourite then this often causes quite a split amongst football traders.

Some argue you should lay the draw at low odds with the chance to benefit if an unexpected goal does arrive but then most will argue back that even if a goal is scored the odds probably won’t rise that high anyway.

You can see the chart from last night’s match between Shakhtar and Juventus where a draw suited both sides and started the match @ 2.10.

At half time the match was still 0-0 and The Draw had steamed into 1.70.

Immediately after Juventus took the lead the draw drifted as high as 3 and that was that for the goals. The Draw went as low as 1.58 before the Italians took the lead.

In the end, The Draw conspiracy never transpired and those who did lay the draw probably gave themselves a nice pat on the back after this one.
