The Biggest Gubbing Ever?

If I am ever going to be trading cricket then its normally the twenty twenty version and so with the current world cup of cricket being one day affairs I haven’t had much interest in it. I have been hearing about England’s apparent under performing in the world cup so far (sounds familiar?) and so I casually tuned in to their match with Ireland. I saw England were priced at around 1.04 for the win and had a joke with myself that it “looked like a good lay”. Hence, I did nothing about it and to be honest the game was so boring I soon found something else on.

Well I guess I am looking pretty stupid as I write this as from the sounds of it, I missed out on one of the most amazing cricket matches ever on Betfair!

Over £2.7 million was traded on 1.01 for England to win before they collapsed late on. Quite amazing and somebody literally could have become a millionaire on Betfair yesterday. This has to go down as one of the biggest shocks for a long time as the gulf between the two teams really is wide. Its the football equivalent of Barcelona losing to Scunthorpe!

I remember a pretty big 1.01 gubbing last summer when Roger Federer was knocked out of the Madrid masters (i think?), but I am not sure if that went too much over the £1 million mark traded below 1.01. So it will be interesting to find out if this was the biggest gubbing of all time?

Just goes to show, you simply can’t buy money!
