Williams Wobbles To Wimbledon Win

Serena Williams was crowned women’s Wimbledon champion but it was not without the routine wobble along the way.

Serena Williams started the match as 1.20 favourite but was so dominant in the early stages that her priced touched 1.01 after she broke serve early in the 2nd set. This was eerily similar to the scenario I pointed out in this article and with Serena looking so strong on serve it was not a surprise that the markets reacted like this.

Remember, it was still only ONE break of serve difference and those who had backed Serena at such low odds would have had an uncomfortable final set as Radwanska broke back and won the 2nd set.

Williams touched a high of 1.63 in the final set before she finally got a hold of the match and put her opponent away.

The markets got it right in the end but there was plenty of low risk opportunities to profit in this one which is why we all love Tennis Trading so much. The chart below clearly showing how easy it was for Serena in the early stages before the usual lapse happened and the market doubt kicked in.
