Exchange Wars: Betdaq or Betfair?

Well, the Betfair premium charge increase really has put the cat amongst the pigeons in the world of betting exchanges!

The first time the charge was introduced, there was a similar reaction with many promising to move to Betdaq however eventually everyone just got back on with it and stayed with Betfair. Will the same happen this time?

Well, I hope not. A Monopoly is never in the best interests of the public and as Sports traders it would be really healthy to have a different option from Betfair so this blog will definitely be in support of any movement to the purple side.

Is the grass really greener on the other side?

A recent post on the Betfair forum is suggesting that Betdaq, or “Betduck” as they like to call them, has been voiding bets and stealing funds from players. Apparently, because Betdaq have been seeding markets themselves and if you are quick enough to take advantage of their slack prices then they will shut you down.

The fact that this story originates from the Betfair forum suggests that it should be taken with a pinch of salt. The next few weeks are going to be interesting and it will be particularly interesting to see how the Betfair markets look after July 18th!

Those who stayed up late and layed the favourite in Copa America will be counting their money this morning. Argentina drew 0-0 with Colombia after being priced @ 1.40 before the match. They now face the prospect of an early exit if they dont win their next match against Costa Rica.  They are currently priced @ 1.15 to beat them.
