As you can see above was my first attempt at trading rugby and it was a successful one. The amount made is nothing spectacular but I am pleased with it as I have never even attempted to trade this sport before.
I used small stakes of £50 and a pretty simple strategy of backing and then laying Wigan at various points in the first half.
I have been meaning to try and trade a rugby game properly for a while however the good matches to trade have been on at awkward times like either early morning or when there is plenty other sports on. It was good to finally get an opportunity in the match between Wigan and Hull KR.
My knowledge of Rugby is not very great at all however I stuck to a good trading mantra of setting out a plan and sticking to it. I had my entry and exit points laid out infront of me and full confidence in my self discipline that I would exit and “red-up” if needed.
Thankfully it went pretty smooth and I will definitely be trying to trade more rugby matches in future. I can see a lot of potential for it as the prices aren’t dangerously volatile like they can be in football but there are some nice swings nonetheless.
I will have to study the markets next time there is a match with decent liquidity and see if there are any angles or opportunities to be had.
